China will improve the supporting mechanism for employment and entrepreneurship, and establish a fairer and more sustainable social welfare system.
In a press conference held by the State Council Information Office, Vice Ministers from the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security said China will upgrade social security system benefiting both rurual and urban areas.
It will speed up the reform of pension programs for employees in public institutions affiliated with government departments. It will also stipulate policies for gradually suspending the retirement age of employees.
Meanwhile, China will improve policies that promote fair employment and remove employment discrimination. The employment-supporting policies will target college graduates and socially disadvantaged groups. The entrepreneurship of college students will also be promoted.
Over 7.3 million students will graduate in 2014. From January to November this year, China created over 12 million jobs, achieving the target for the year in advance.
"To promote employment for college graduates, we need to create more jobs. We should combine with industrial upgrading to develop more jobs suitable for college graduate. We also need to implement and improve supporting policies for college students employment. We encourage small and micro-enterprises to employ more graduates and encourage graduates to take jobs at grassroots level. We should also improve employment services and encourage students to start their own businesses." Xin Changxing, Vice Minister of Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security said.
